The After Parties

Jacket

After the Reception we only had 1.5hrs to get ready for the After Party. I only had 10mins to eat our food as there wasn’t enough time during the reception. I wanted a bit more time to savor the taste…

Wedding Dress

After that, I changed into a Western wedding dress which I bought online, made to order. I changed my hair-style and makeup too. My ex-colleague did my hair. She put it into down-style and helped me change into the dress. Before we knew it, we had achieved a make over! The cast on my hand was masked by a pair of white gloves my sister made for me. You can’t really see the cast can you?! I appreciated to my sister’s amazing job. I also wore my favourite pearl necklace and this made me feel great. I think most women dream about the wedding dress they’ll wear one day. Compared to a Kimono, this one is much lighter and offers much more flexibility to move in. Everytime I saw myself in the mirror I couldn’t hide my happiness.

Jacket

My husband isn’t really into wearing formal tuxedos so he wore a funky Italian made jacket with a vivid red pattern. I like his choice as I think it’s suited better to who he is. After my hand gets better, I will wear this dress again and take wedding pictures back in Sydney.

Cheers Malaysian Style

The after party started at 6pm at Bar Foggy which is a western style bar. I think we made a successful switch from a traditional Japanese wedding into an authentic western style event and we went on just drinking, chatting, drinking more, and chatting more, and so on. One of fun thing was the Malaysian style cheers. Everyone stood in a circle, with their glasses up in the air in the middle,

“Yu————————————————————-m, Seng! ”

You keep shouting the first part for about 20 seconds, and then emphatically shout the last “Seng!” quickly, and then chug down your drink. That was really fun and a good one to kick the party into gear. It is better to only do it when you have a chartered room…

We moved to 3rd party at a nearby music bar and kept going. To add to that, we left the music bar at about midnight and the remaining 15 people who had still energy went to Ichifuji to try Fukuoka’s famous Motsunabe shop. Motsunabe is a tripe stew / hotpot.
